Why Should Christians Not Live Like the World?

For this article, we picked a design that we feel sends an important, yet, short and sweet, message for this time we live in.

First... a little more about the design...

The 'Live by The Word, Not the World T-Shirt' was designed by Hello Fish Life™, in 2019. This plain text design by Hello Fish Life™ was made to impart the message that we should live out our lives guided by the Word of God, with Godly principles that are rooted in His Word; not living a lifestyle that is derived from worldly morals, traditions, and ideologies. The Word of God teaches us about this in Romans 12:2 saying,

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

But Why should Christians not live like the World?
Well, as it is explained in 1 John is 5:19"We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway [power, control, influence] of the wicked one."
So, because we are not technically of this world, but of God, and the world is under the influential control of Satan, who is in direct opposition to God - That means we should not in any way, shape or form, conform to [by showing support of, or devotion to] that which is worldly.

So if we shouldn't be like the World, then who or what should we be like?
Well, the answer to that question is simple, yet, remarkably profound!
Because the Word of God comes directly from God, just like we do, then that is what we should submit ourselves to! Talk about being 'meant to be,' right?!?
In fact, it is us becoming totally submitted to God and His Word that drives the enemy and his control over us out of our lives! James 4:7 explains this fact by saying, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." So, Submitting to God, is how you resist the Devil, and resisting Devil is what makes him finally remove his grip on your life! Wow!

Finally, what exactly is the primary purpose of the Bible to a Christian?
Scripture goes even further in explaining what the Word of God is supposed to be used for in the life of a believer. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 it says,
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work."
So, you see, the Word of God is not just a book of well-intended stories or a recording of History. His Word was given to us by God Himself. And He did this to help connect us to His heart for us; so that we could receive healing in our bodies, minds, and emotions; so that we could have a proper guide in life of how to handle what happens to us, our families, and the body of Christ; to lead us down the right path in life, and it also teaches us about how to trust God with the issues in our lives and also issues with others.
And even though the Bible is no substitute for a personal relationship with Christ, it is an absolute necessity for every Believer in Christ Jesus to read it, meditate on it, apply it to their lives, and to hide the Words in their heart.
Plainly, the Bible reveals to us who God is, who we are, shows us our destiny through Christ, shares of promises that He has made for all of His children, and lets us know the Truth of what can and will come to those who choose not to follow the leadership of His loving Word.

I say that's all a pretty good reason to reject all of the trappings of this the World. And that's where we stand.
